Certain minor surgical procedures are undertaken at both clinics, by special arrangement. Most of the surgical procedures are undertaken by Dr Authe, who has specialist qualifications in surgery.
We also provide cautery of the treatment of warts and verrucas using a very cold chemical. We previously used liquid nitrogen, but have switched over to a new product called Dermafreeze for freezing small lesions and warts. As this medicine is not as cold as liquid nitrogen, it is less effective. However, as the canisters are small, we are able to have them available at both surgeries, making it more convenient for patients. Larger and more difficult lesions will be referred to the dermatology department, where liquid nitrogen is used.
