When you have had tests such as blood tests, urine samples, X-rays or cervical smears and wish to know whether or not the results have been received at the practice, you can contact the surgery either by telephone or by coming in to the surgery and asking one of the receptionists.
Please can you do between the hours of 15:00 - 18:00.
You will only receive results for yourself, this is due to confidentiality issues, please DO NOT phone for your neighbour, mother, brother etc. unless they have already given permission (by informing the person taking their blood) for you to collect their results. The doctor or nurse should tell you how long it is likely to be before we receive the result as this differs according to the type of test.
It would be helpful if you could ring or call in the afternoon as the surgery is generally quieter during these hours. It will also allow you to get results that have only arrived at lunchtime, and have been processed by the doctors.
The receptionists are unable to give you the results, other than to tell you whether they are normal, or that you need an appointment (either with the doctor or nurse, as has been specified to them). Sometimes, a prescription will be left for you at reception. If you are unclear what the prescription is for, please leave a message with the receptionists, and someone will contact you.
