Repeat prescriptions can be ordered in the following ways -
- Online via the link at the top of this page (new users are required to register first). To register for online services you must be over 18 years of age and will need to sign a consent form. You will also be required to and bring two forms of ID into the surgery - one with a photo and one with your current address.
- By fax to – 01204 848 919 (Wyresdale Road) or 494 500 (Halliwell Road).
- By handing a list of the medication (with correct dosages) required to our receptionists.
- By writing to us with your list of medication (including a stamped SAE, which we can post back to you).
Please note we do not accept prescription orders by phone.
We are now live with the Electronic Transfer of Prescriptions (ETP). This allows you or your nominated representative or pharmacy to order your repeat medication, and once signed it will be sent electronically directly to your nominated pharmacy for dispensing. This saves you having to come back to the surgery to collect your prescription. Please enquire at your pharmacy should you wish to participate in this service. (**Please note - if you are prescribed any controlled drugs, these cannot be sent electronically and a prescription will still need to be collected**)
Prescriptions requested before noon will usually be available for collection after 15:00 the following day. However, we prefer if patients can allow 2 working days, in case of computer problems or staff sickness, etc.
Repeat Prescriptions Requests During Consultations
The doctors no longer provide routine repeat prescriptions during surgery consultations, and you are respectfully advised that you can request your repeat prescription prior to your appointment, and pick it up when you attend the surgery for your appointment.
Patients on repeat medication will be asked to see a doctor, nurse practitioner or practice nurse at least once a year to review these regular medications and notification should appear on your repeat slip.
Please ensure that you book an appropriate appointment to avoid unnecessary delays to further prescriptions.
