Welcome to Drs Karim and James-Authe
OUR MISSION STATEMENT:
WE AIM TO PROVIDE A RESPONSIVE, EFFICIENT, CARING AND FRIENDLY SERVICE TO ALL OUR PATIENTS.
With patients' needs at the heart of everything we do, our website has been designed to make it easy for you to gain instant access to the information you need. As well as specific practice details such as opening hours and how to register, you’ll find a wealth of useful pages covering a wide range of health issues along with links to other relevant medical organisations.
Get Well, Keep Well
Of course we’re not just here for when you are unwell. Our team of healthcare professionals and back-up staff offer a number of clinics and services to promote good health and wellbeing whatever your medical condition.
We hope you enjoy having a look around the site and familiarising yourself with some of the online features such as ordering a repeat prescription. Whatever your thoughts, be sure to let us know via our feedback function. Comments and suggestions are always a great way of helping us continue to enhance the way we look after you.
At Wyresdale Road, a ramp is provided (at No 46, Wyresdale Rd) for wheelchair access.
At Halliwell Road, we have explored the option of a long ramp, but we are unable to meet certain specifications of gradients, etc. We have provided 'grab handles' to help the elderly, and the large steps at the front have been replaced with smaller steps, which the elderly find much easier.
Disabled toilets are provided at both sites.
At both surgeries, the nurses operate upstairs, and will happily see patients who are unable to negotiate the stairs in a consulting room downstairs. (Please inform the receptionists when you arrive.) Once inside the premises of both surgeries, you should not face any other physical obstructions, as everything is 'on the level'.
For patients who are significantly disabled and unable to attend the surgery, we have always been happy to provide for their health needs at home.
At Wyresdale Road, please feel free to park on the forecourt of the surgery. There are additional parking spaces at the rear of the premises.
At Halliwell Road, parking is possible directly outside the surgery, on Halliwell Road itself. However, council regulations means parking restrictions are in place at certain times of the day, so please do not park there before 9.30am, or during evening surgery. The practice cannot be held resposnsible for parking tickets issued by over-zealous parking attendants. For evening surgeries, please park across the road, on Whowell Road, or around the corner on Adrian Road.
New Members of Staff
We would also like to introduce Paul Longden - Senior Mental Health Practitioner and Ana Toole - Physiotherapist to our team.
Paul will be working alongside our nurses and GPs to provide a first point of contact for patients. He will be on hand to give guidance advice and treatment for patients with mental health symptoms such as low mood, anxiety and depression. Paul works from our Wyresdale Road surgery on Monday mornings.
Ana is also working alongside the nurses and GPs and can assess and diagnose various MSK conditions including shoulder, back , neck, knee, elbow, hand, foot, hip and wrist pain. She too is a first point if contact and can offer expert advice on how to manage your condition and refer you to a specialist if necessary. Ana works from our Wyresdale Road surgery on Friday afternoons.
If you feel you fall into any of these categories, then contact reception and ask for an appointment directly with Paul or Ana.
